VIETNAM – INDIA BOOST AGRICULTURAL TRADE

April 23, 2024

Promoting trade between the Vietnamese agricultural sector and large markets like India presents a significant opportunity to expand exports and enhance economic cooperation between the two countries. Vietnamese agricultural products and processed foods, such as dragon fruit, rambutan, instant coffee, striped catfish, and basa fish, are highly favored in the Indian market. However, the bilateral trade situation between Vietnam and India still faces various challenges due to India’s frequent use of trade defense measures and policy changes.

To promote agricultural cooperation between Vietnam and India, Bui Trung Thuong, Commerical counsellor – Head of the Vietnam Trade Office in India held a working session with the Agricultural and Processed Food Products Export Development Authority (APEDA) to propose specific measures aimed at boosting and creating favorable conditions for bilateral trade.
