(Update April 10, 2025)
After days of firmly pursuing a tough trade strategy, President Trump unexpectedly announced that all countries that have not retaliated against U.S. tariffs will have the implementation of additional tariffs temporarily postponed — and will only be subject to the standard 10% tariff until July.
However, in the case of China, Trump affirmed that tariffs on Chinese exports would be immediately raised to 125%. This move comes after China’s Ministry of Finance announced it would impose an 84% tariff on U.S. imports starting April 10, in response to Trump’s tariff measures.
