🤨 What is LCL?

When you need to transport a small quantity of goods that utilize only a portion of a shipping container’s capacity, or if you prefer not to rent a full container, you can use LCL (Less than Container Load) service. This service consolidates goods from multiple shippers to fill the container, which helps you optimize costs.

   🤓 General Fees

– THC (Terminal Handling Charge): is a fee for loading and unloading goods from the ship. This fee is applied per container to offset costs associated with port activities. The fee is regulated by the port and collected from the owner.

– B/L (Bill of Lading): this is a legal document, similar to the D/O fee. This document will be issued by shipping lines and forwarders when exporting goods.

– CFS (Container Freight Station): is the storage cost applied to retail goods such as packing fees, loading and unloading fees, storage fees, and bringing goods from the container to the warehouse.

– Handling fee: This fee covers the cost of the shipping agent performing tasks such as declaring manifest with the customs, issuing of B/L, D/O as well as related papers.

– EBS (Emergency Bunker Surcharger): is the fuel surcharge for shipping routes to Asia.

– Seal fee: is a type of fee used to seal containers or goods before they are transported.

– LSS (Low Sulfur Surcharge): is a surcharge that helps reduce the negative impacts of transportation activities by reducing sulfur emissions.
